What is self-care?
Everyone has their own definition of self-care. Sometimes this can lead to misconceptions of what self-care really is. Here's a quick summary of the dictionary's definition: self-care is the practice of improving your health, protecting your happiness, and preserving your well-being.
I like to think of self-care as intentional self-regulation.
I use self-care to manage my stress & anxiety. As an introvert, self-care is important to me to slow down and avoid burn out. Self-care is also how I refuel myself, unwind from a busy week, or remind myself to enjoy life.
