My Hair journeyI have naturally curly hair that needs moisture and loves conditioner. Occasionally, my mom would perm my hair as a child, but in middle school, I did the "big chop". After cutting off most of my hair, it took "forever" to grow. When I finally had some length, I regularly straightened my hair with a flat iron. My hair became damaged and dry, and my curls were barely there. Just before my clean beauty journey in 2017, I started to become a little more conscious of what I was using on my hair. With lots of trial and error, I have found the products and routine that work for me. I don't follow a trendy or popular method for my hair. I don't let anyone else touch or do my hair. I listen to my hair and give it what it needs when it needs it. I even trim my own hair if I see fit. After just over 4 years of consciously caring for my hair, it is now the longest it has ever been, it's healthy, and my curls are thriving. My Favorite Hair Products

How to order Your skincare RoutineYou're probably wondering, "what do you apply first-- serum or moisturizer?". Or what about a face oil? I'm sure we all buy a new skin care product first and then later think, "now, how does this fit in?". Here's the deal: the order you apply your skin care products matters. If you don't layer your products correctly, you run the risk of your products becoming ineffective or irritating your skin. When you apply your skin care products in the right order, you're able to maximize their benefits. Below you'll find a breakdown of when to apply each of your skin care products. You can subtract the products that you don't use, but it's important to implement these steps with the products that work for your skin. Don't forget to adapt products as your skin changes with climate or travel. Here's the Breakdown

What is Maskne?"Maskne" is what it sounds like. It's acne related to wearing a face mask or covering. Wearing a mask or facial covering can trap a lot of heat and moisture. Mask-wearing can lead to breakouts, clogged pores, and skin irritation. Along with maskne, some of you may be dealing with allergic contact dermatitis. This is basically an allergic reaction to a chemical that may be in the mask that you're wearing. With all of the recent mask-wearing, I have dealt with both maskne and allergic contact dermatitis. Try not to pick at your face. The less you touch your face outside of your skincare routine, the less irritated it will be. 3 things to remember: cleanse, treat, & protect I am an independent consultant with Beautycounter. What's BeautycounterFirst things, first: Beautycounter is a beauty brand leading the movement for clean beauty. Beautycounter is built on a powerful mission "to get safer products into the hands of everyone." Their motto is to formulate, educate, and advocate. This post will cover why you should choose Beautycounter and my testimony on why I continue to choose Beautycounter. Here's Why you should choose Beautycounter:
My Clean Beauty TestimonyBeautycounter is the company that helped open my eyes to the state of the beauty industry. I was able to start switching my skincare & makeup products quickly when I became a Beautycounter Consultant. Beautycounter's mission is about getting safer products into people's hands, not just Beautycounter products into people's hands. I started doing my own research and figuring out my preferences for products. I then switched my body and house cleaning products for safer alternatives with several different brands. Since switching the products that I use every day for safer alternatives, I can happily say that I am 2+ years migraine-free. Beautycounter helped me to realize that ingredients are more important than a brand name. What a company stands for is more important than the famous celebrities that endorse it. I'd love to help you make safer choices Beautycounter. be on the lookout for a post on my favorite safer products and the brands that I choose to use in my home.
